Sharjah Film Platform (UAE) is an annual festival organized by the Sharjah Art Foundation that celebrates independent and experimental cinema. It features a diverse range of films, workshops, and discussions, connecting filmmakers and audiences in the UAE.
The Network of Arab Alternative Screens (NAAS) is proud to announce its partnership with the 5th edition of Sharjah Film Platform. The festival was held in the Mirage City Cinema, the Sharjah Institute of Theatrical Arts and the Gallery 4 of Al Mureijah Art Spaces.
NAAS held its seventh Regional Meeting during the 5th edition of Sharjah Film Platform on October 24 and 25. It will be the first time the members hold this meeting in person since its fourth edition at the Ateliers de l’Atlas during the 2019 Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco.
The 10-day festival includes a range of regional and international films, talks by filmmakers and industry professionals, concerts and gatherings, taking place in venues across Sharjah.
The network is also contributing to Sharjah Film Platform’s program with a number of activities, including moderating Q&A sessions throughout the festival and participating in jury deliberations for documentary, experimental and narrative films on October 28th and 29th. NAAS is also coordinating SFP’s circulation initiative of the prized films across the network’s screens.
