Zawya Cinema's September program kicks off with a retrospective of one of this century’s most acclaimed directors, Stanley Kubrick.
Through a selection of seven titles Zawya invites viewers to revisit the world of one of the most enigmatic filmmakers, some of which are showing for the first time in Cairo on the big screen.
The seven films will be screened in order of chronology, to follow his body of work as it developed from his fascination with literary and historical epics to dark absurdist expression: Paths of Glory (1957), Lolita (1961), Dr. Strangelove (1964), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Barry Lyndon (1975), The Shining (1980) and Full Metal Jacket (1987).
